But here's a tip you don't hear very often: Gently apply the granular cleanser to avoid irritating the skin, which could cause a breakout. And really, there's no need to up the exfoliation routine since we, according to dermatologist Dr. Kevin Pinski, naturally shed dead skin cells on a monthly basis.
Every time we exfoliate, our skin becomes more sensitive to the sun. Make time to apply and reapply sunscreen. "Sunscreen is a chemical that is activated by the skin to be effective, which takes about 30-45 minutes to become so," explains Dr. Pinski. "It gets absorbed into skin and easily wears off when we perspire or get wet, which explains the need to reapply." Ladies, the SPF in your cosmetics won't cut it.
